I am a fully qualified British School of Yoga instructor. My classes are friendly and informal, with the aim to make yoga accessible to all. My aim is to teach safely, so that each student works to their own ability, gently but surely improving their flexibility, balance and breath control. Every session starts with a short warm up from head to toe, to warm the muscles and joints. Then our mindful practice of asanas (postures), designed around a theme for the week, to help strengthen, muscles& ,joints, improve posture & breathing, and also to calm the mind. Classes finish with a guided meditation to bring about deep relaxation. Yoga is an excellent practice for so many things ,physically ,mentally and emotionally. Beginners are very welcome. Please bring your own mat if you have one (if not spares are available)and a small blanket.

I am a British School of Yoga qualified Hatha Yoga and Qigong instructor. I want to dispel the myth that yoga is only for flexible people! All ages and abilities can enjoy the wonderful health benefits of yoga. All postures can be modified i.e if kneeling is a problem for you, I can offer an alternative. I am used to teaching students with a range of health problems from arthritis to extreme anxiety. Everyone works to their own ability safely.
In a yoga class, you will be working not only on the body, but also on the mind and spirit. Regular practice will of course build stronger muscles & bones, improve your balance and co-ordination and even increase lung capacity. All this helps you to enjoy more flexibility. But even better than that, yoga teaches us to be more mindful, more aware of our bodies and what it needs. Yoga also teaches us how to relax, therefore it is a wonderful tool for de-stressing, letting go of anxiety, improving your sleep pattern and much more.
Chair Yoga provides all of the above, without getting up and down from the mat. The class is structured in the same way as a traditional mat class with a short relaxation at the beginning & end of the class. There is also an optional 10 minuets of standing exercises half way through. The chair can be used to hold on to if you should need.
Qigong is similar to Tai Chi, but much easier to learn. The individual exercises are designed to be slow, flowing and relaxing, which helps to release chronic tension in the muscles. It is also an excellent way to release mental & emotional tension.
I know that coming along to a class for the first time can be daunting, but rest assured you will recieve a warm welcome. Classes are friendly and informal.
All classes are priced at £8 per session. Please bring a yoga mat ( spares are available) and a small blanket. No equipment needed for Chair Yoga.
