Mysore is the traditional way of learning Ashtanga yoga, named after the city in India where Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, who popularised Ashtanga yoga lived.
As opposed to a counted class where the teacher guides the students through a class and each student performs the same posture at the same time, in a Mysore class each student does their own Ashtanga self practice at their own pace, under the watchful eye of an experienced teacher.
The style lends itself well to all levels of practitioners from beginners through to experienced. As each individual practices their own portion of the Ashtanga yoga system the teacher is able to provide one-to-one assistance as required, whilst the students still benefit from the energy of the group. As students gain strength and flexibility additional poses are added to their sequence.
Just Love Yoga offers mysore classes on Saturday mornings from 7:30 - 9:00am. You can arrive anytime after 7:30am.
