This is a very friendly mixed age, mixed ability class and beginners are always welcome. A typical session consists of initial relaxation/breathing, warm-up stretches, traditional yoga postures and a final guided relaxation. Some equipment is provided but please bring a yoga mat if you have one and a blanket for the relaxation periods

The usual format of the evening is a brief relaxation period at the beginning of the session, gentle warm-up stretches prior to traditional yoga poses and then (probably the best bit) the final ten minutes or so is complete guided relaxation. Everyone is encouraged to work within their own capabilities so, for instance, those who are more experienced will hold the poses for a little longer than those who are not quite so flexible or who are completely new to yoga. Belts and blocks are provided to assist your practice, but students will need to bring along a blanket and yoga mat if possible. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing so that you can move easily. You will find this to be a very friendly class and you are most welcome to join us.
On a more personal note, I obtained my Yoga for Health Foundation Diploma in Spring 2000 and have been teaching in Sussex on a regular basis since that date.
