This class incorporates yoga postures from a fitness perspective and aims to improve strength and flexibility using yoga poses and Pilates floor work. The class will enable participants to move more effectively and efficiently, with better posture and self-awareness. fitness yoga class differs from traditional yoga as we transition from one posture to another in the standing section.
All our postures are designed to improve function by building strength and can be adapted to suit all abilities and those with less flexibility. We avoid extreme postures that exceed optimal ranges of motion in favour of individual strengths and performance and the class is suitable for men and women of all skill and fitness levels.
This class consists of a mobility warm-up and a standing yoga section before moving to the floor to work on core strength and flexibility, finishing with yoga, stretching and relax.

I have been in the fitness industry for about 25 years and over that time I have taught classes from aerobics, aqua and step, to Body Combat, circuit training and studio cycling. My main focus and passion these days are teaching fitness yoga and fitness Pilates, and I love the way I can be creative and bring other aspects of fitness and types of exercise into the classes. Having also trained and worked in exercise referral and obtained a L4 certificate in back pain, I am able to use this knowledge to advise and adapt the classes.
