I have been practicing Iyengar yoga since 1995 and qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2009. I teach in Stroud at the Stroud Yoga Space and also at The Old Vicarage in Nailsworth. Do contact me if you are interested in Nailsworth.
I am absolutely passionate about Iyengar yoga and have found it incredibly beneficial for ongoing back pain that I suffered from for many years! It is the one time where I can put all worries aside and devote myself to my practice with complete focus - I like to call it moving meditation.
Iyengar yoga uses props where necessary to help everyone, no matter what their ability, stiffness etc to work on the poses and to feel the amazing physical and emotional benefits of yoga. It is very focused on precision and alignment and in that way is really beneficial for backs, joints and general overall flexibility, strength and stamina.
I also make and sell aromatherapy products (www.kalyaproducts.co.uk) and give really deep, therapeutic aromatherapy massages! I love the combination of this with yoga and the holistic approach to health and wellbeing is my passion!
