I am a fully qualified and experienced yoga teacher running classes in the south Somerset area.
My classes focus very much on the individual needs of each student and working with them to support their goals. I use postures to develop strength, flexibility and release of built up tension on all aspects of the body - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual - supporting well-being and happiness. I keep my classes fun and light-hearted to build up positivity and an open attitude. I work very much with breath which is key to good yoga practice and to good health.
Yoga on the mat is just preparation for yoga off the mat in everyday life. My aim is to encourage each person to develop themselves on all levels to become stronger, more flexible and healthier and importantly, kinder inwards and outwardly, with an awareness of gratitude, all of which leads to greater happiness. Finding contentment and equanimity where you feel at one with yourself and the world around you is the main aim of yoga.
I find people can always achieve more than they think and it is such a privilege to see a student’s joy when they accomplish something they thought was beyond them. Yoga is so empowering. All it needs is awareness followed by action to create positive change.
I initially trained with the British Wheel Of Yoga for 3 years to become a qualified teacher. I later trained for a further 2 1/2 years to become an advanced teacher in a more healing style of yoga, right at the core of yogic tradition. I consistently update my training through attending workshops, courses and yoga days. I am insured and have a current first aid certificate.
