Yoga was originally taught one to one and this method is still the best way to tailor yoga practice to the needs of the individual. Whether you have a health condition which prevents you form confidently joining a group class or you are an experienced practitioner looking to deepen your practice, one to one yoga is the ideal way to achieve your goals. My teaching is trauma-informed and I have experience working with survivors of complex trauma, as well as people with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions. I've been teaching yoga in a wide variety of community settings since 2007, when I undertook my initial 500 hour diploma training with the British Wheel of Yoga. Since this time, I've completed hundreds of hours of additional training and am recognised as a yoga elder by the Independent Yoga Network.
I currently teach one online weekly public yoga class using Zoom. In addition, I facilitate one to one and small group private hatha yoga, meditation and kirtan (mantra chanting) sessions for people of all ages across south west Wales. My sessions incorporate asana (postures), pranayama (yogic breathing), meditation and deep relaxation and have a strong emphasis on mindfulness and somatic awareness.
In 2016, I completed a four day training in trauma sensitive yoga and I am also a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor (MA Psychotherapeutic Practice).
