A Gentle class suitable for all abilities. This class involves no getting up and down from the floor, everything is done either standing or sitting on a chair. We will slowly move through a joint mobilisation series, and then onto some mindful qigong practices. The final 15-20 minutes of the class is for socialising, with hot drinks available and the opportunity to chat with the fellow participants.
Qigong (pronounced chee-gung) is an ancient Chinese intention-based practice that uses gentle movement and the breath to balance our energy flow. It assists in increasing our circulation, releasing tension in the body, building strength, and calming the mind. Qigong is one of the 5 pillars of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the foundation of all martial arts, and has spiritual aspects allowing us to connect with the harmony of the natural world.
