My yoga journey began at Drama School 8 years ago where a daily practice was encouraged as a ‘body conditioning system’. At first I found it extremely difficult as I could feel the postures challenging my mental and physical resistance. Thankfully I persevered and quickly found the calming and strengthening effects of the practice starting to change me.
A few years later I decided to take the leap and train to be a teacher. I almost felt called to do so and although I certainly wasn't the most advanced Yogi in the room, I managed to stay on the path and honour my own unique journey. I began to understand that this is what being a teacher is really about. By truly understanding and being compassionate towards yourself and your learning process, you can then guide and facilitate this transformation in others. I am passionate about serving the unique needs of my students and aiding them in their journey on and off the mat.
I believe that without connection to the breath there is no yoga. Therefore breath is at the heart of my teaching and I aim for us to create a moving meditation together on the mat - linking breath and movement to create flow and stay present.
You can expect a varied dynamic sequence focusing on the fundamentals of the Ashtanga style; Breath, Locks, Flow & Gaze, leaving you feeling energised, uplifted and deeply relaxed.
I completed my 200hr teacher training in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Rocket, Yin and Chakra Philosophy with the It’s Yoga affiliated Yoga People in Goa.
This beautiful science has changed my life for the better and I truly hope that it will do the same for you.
