Yin is a slow paced style of yoga with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles of yoga. It combines the ancient principles of Chinese energy maps using the meridians (energy lines) within the body, with the ancient Indian practice of yoga. This class focuses on stretching and releasing the connective tissue in the body (fascia), so even though the class is at a slower pace, the poses are held for longer than other yoga classes which will challenge you in different ways.
