My name is Barbara and I have been practicing Yoga for over 30 years.
My first encounter with Yoga was as a teenager in Germany where I practiced Sivananda style Hatha yoga .
Since moving to Manchester my main Style of Yoga has been Iyengar . I have also experience with Vinyasa Flow and traditional Hatha Yoga.
Obviously there were times in my life when Yoga took a back seat but I always came back to it because of the benefits Yoga brings to physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing. Ever since I first came into contact with Yoga I have been fascinated by the origin of Yoga, Yogis and Yoga philosophy and read many books on the topic. For many years I wanted to visit the birth place of Yoga. In recent years I have been fortunate to be able to spend many months in India and to attend courses at the “Phool Chatti Ashram” in Rishikesh,
the “ Himalyan Iyengar Yoga Centre” in Dharmacot and the “Mahi Yoga Centre “in Dharamshala and Arambol.
In Feburary 2015 I qualified as a Yoga teacher with “Siddhi Yoga” in Arambol, Goa.
Since then I have taught classes in India and Manchester. I am teaching Hatha Yoga which includes asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and relaxation.
