Hi, I'm a 200 hr RYT Yoga and certified Gravity Yoga and Yoga Trapeze teacher. On the mat, I teach Yoga for Fitness loosely based on Ashtanga Vinyasa, modified to suit all levels and geared towards results. There is no Sanskrit or chanting so students from all levels and beliefs feel at ease.
What I love most is to help students achieve their goals, whether to reduce stress, get more tone and flexibility or all of those.
Until my mid-30s I was a bellydancer, a breakdancer and I practiced martial arts. My work running an environmental NGO was stressful…then I had a burn out and injuries that put a stop to my fitness activities. I slouched on my laptop all day feeling in pain, stiff, unfit.
I tried Yoga because “gentle stretching” was all I thought I could manage. But after just a couple of months of what turned be quite dynamic sessions, Yoga loosened my shoulder and toned my muscles. I felt so great I wanted to share it with everyone!
So, I trained a year and received my teaching diploma at the Yoga Teacher College, through one of the most rigorous training programs. I also decided to get certified in Gravity Yoga to help students increase mobility and Trapeze Yoga which builds upper body strength and balance.
