Sarai is one of eight Ashtanga Yoga teachers in the UK who has received
Authorisation Level 2 teaching qualification from K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute of Mysore, India (KPJAYI).
Sarai has been practicing and teaching for over a decade and studied under the guidance of Hamish Hendry in London for nine years, assisting and then teaching self-practice at his school before moving to Triyoga Soho. She has taught in various capacities including workshops worldwide, within corporations and yoga studios, privately, and independently. She practices Primary, Intermediate and Advanced A ashtanga yoga asanas.
Sarai is originally from New Zealand, moving to London in her late teens and working in photography before committing to yoga teaching full time. She has returned to Mysore annually for the past 10 years to study with the late Shri K. Pattabhi Jois (Guruji) and continues to further her studies under the guidance of R. Sharath.
Sarai has spent many years exploring the mind body connection and her teaching is infused with tradition, discipline, kindness, principles of alignment, and the belief in the innate potential inherent in each individual. Sarai has a BA in Humanities from The University of London.
