Dru It Yourself: Self-Care Workshops in London

Do you spend all your time looking out for other people, and not yourself? Do you care deeply for the world but forget to care enough for yourself? Have you become exhausted by your schedule and need to remember to put time in the diary for you? It’s time to replenish!

Join me for a mini-retreat in London this November.

Come for one afternoon, or both and fill up your own cup. Are you someone who tends to give to others more than you look after yourself? Then this is for you. This is self-care for those who care.

These workshops will give you a healthy dose of self-care, whilst also empowering you to make this a key focus in your life. So it sits rightly alongside your social-conscience, care for the world, looking after those you love and your work life.

What is Dru Yoga?

Dru Yoga is a beautiful slow and flowing form of yoga that will help you to relax, unwind and stretch out your body. It can help revive tired muscles, reduce back pain and combat stress. Dru Yoga gives the mind and body much needed rest and relaxation, to help you find a still point in your busy world.

What to expect

These workshops will bring together physical movements and asana (yoga postures) with more subtle yoga techniques like mudras (hand gestures), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation.

Physical movements and yoga help us to become aware of ourselves, to let go of stress and anxiety, to become more mindful. And to allow the body to relax more deeply.

Intertwined with the asana we will try out mudras and pranayama which can help bring moments of peace and calm when you need them most – in the middle of your day and in challenging situations.

We’ll then take an extended relaxation, helped by the movement and stretching we’ve just done, and supported by bolsters and blankets so you can be as comfortable as possible.

The workshops will be completed by a short meditation to help keep this self-care process at the top of your ‘to-do’ list.

Throughout the workshops there will be a particular emphasis on how we can look after ourselves, even when it feels like there is no time or space to do so.

Who is this workshop suitable for?

This workshop is suitable for all, whether you are totally new to yoga, have been practicing for years, or anything in between. Think all the benefits of a yoga retreat but with the investment of just two hours on a Saturday and Sunday afternoon. And without even having to leave London! How can you resist!?

You can combine the two workshops into your own mini-retreat for just £50 or just come to one for £30.

The workshop will be suitable for those with health challenges, who are pregnant or post-natal. It is vital that you inform me in advance if you have any current or chronic health issues. Please also tell me if you are pregnant or less than 6 months post-natal.
