The day begins at 10am, at the Freestyle Movement Project in Tunbridge Wells (easily accessible by bus/train/car) starting with an introduction to Malas, and a guided meditation to set an intention for your beads to emerge.
We will then intuitively choose beads, tassels and guru bead; I will assist on sharing the properties of the semi-precious stones and how to work with colour theory/numerology in your creation.
We will split knotting into two parts, taking a break for a delicious and healthy vegan lunch.
Once everyone has completed knotting their Malas we will end with a round of Japa (mantra meditation) to connect you to your mala.
All equipment and refreshments are included and you will leave not only with your unique, attuned mala in a sustainable cotton pouch; but also with new knowledge, a mantra worksheet, and a peaceful state of being after a calm and creative day.
This is going to be such a wonderful way to start 2022, places are limited and they’re already filling up! So make sure to book soon to ensure your space. Reciprocity for the day is £135
and there is a discount for group bookings.
A Mala Making day retreat is an experience for anyone, from the people interested just in jewellery making, yoga and spirituality; to the regular meditator and practitioner. The day retreat is a relaxing and informative workshop where people will learn about mala beads, healing crystals and meditating. Whilst having the opportunity to make their own (specially designed for them), have two relaxing meditations plus a delicious and healthy vegan. Mala beads have been used for centuries but have recently become popular accessories and meditation tools in the spiritual world, used for meditation or simply worn for their beauty and healing/grounding properties.

I have been practicing yoga since I was 13, weaving my early life around spiritual studies. I completed my 200RYT in Guatemala in 2018 and have been both learning and teaching extensively since. My classes are open to all abilities, genders, ages, but do range in their style. I lead a mainly Hatha practice but with elements of Yin, Scaravelli Yoga, Vinyasa, Kundalini and Chi Gung. I believe that when we focus our breath, body and mind together in whatever practice: we can achieve a more present, peaceful state of being. All of my classes follow closely the wheel of the year, for example we may be focusing our energy downwards in the winter period (or time of darkness) with more restorative postures and time in meditation, or we may build a more strength based asana practice in the time of light!
I offer one to ones as well as group practices, both either in person or online.
