We Are KUNG FU

This workshop will be a fusion of 4 different kung fu arts, Wing Chun (made famous by Bruce Lee) ShaolinKung Fu (Shaolin Monks) Xing Yi (internal martial art) and Tai Chi/Chi Kung (Healing the body through breathing and gentle exercise) This will be for complete beginners and experienced practitioners.

Wing Chun – Translates as Beautiful Springtime, and is a very old Chinese Kung Fu art. This art was made popular by Bruce Lee and his master the late great Ip Man. Originally developed specifically for women, this art has become a very popular Kung Fu style, form of relaxation and more so, a supreme art of self protection.
Shaolin Kung Fu – Widely recognised as the birth place of all kung fu systems, the Shaolin monks are recognised world wide for their feats of agility, mind over matter demonstrations, ultimate meditative harmony with nature and mastery of the breath/mind/body connection.

Xing Yi – An advanced internal battlefield martial art, known as the grandfather of the internal systems of China. Although this system is firstly a very advanced martial art, through internalising the principles and movements; healing the organs, bone marrow, skeleton and connective elements of the body can be achieved. The main aim here is to reconnect our essence to the original source.

Tai Chi/Chi Kung – Activating the inner awareness through breathing and activating the outer awareness through advanced use of body mechanics – for health and self protection.
It will be a journey of internal meditation, stretching, flexibility, agility and self protection techniques. The class may do more of and less of the mentioned here, depending on the class participants requests. Going at your own pace is a necessity.

Our Kung Fu workshop will be hosted by Alistair Chatterley. Alistair has been studying Kung Fu and related arts from China, Japan and Indonesia for the past 24 years. He has trained with world renowned masters and is the reigning European Chinese sword champion.

Saturday 9th April 2pm – 3pm with Alistair Chatterley
£10 early bird before 2nd April or £12.50 drop in.
