Postnatal yoga classes are a great way to nurture yourself in the months after giving birth. The physical focus of the class is on postnatal recovery; repairing and strengthening the core (abdominal muscles, back and pelvic floor), easing tension in the back and shoulders, realigning the spine and strengthening the glutes, plus boosting flagging energy. At the start of each new block of classes we check for diastasis recti (abdominal separation) and for those who have it, we work on repairing it in a safe way.
Whilst my postnatal yoga classes focus on you, you are welcome to bring your baby along and they can lie beside you, giving you precious bonding time whilst you practice. The class is suitable from 6 weeks after birth, or 12 weeks if you’ve had a C-section. Classes are relaxed, friendly and fun and are a great way to meet new mums in your area.
