A gentle yoga class, using chair support to combine a variety of sitting and standing poses.
Chair yoga is especially helpful for people who cannot get up and down on the floor easily or who are limited in the ability to kneel or sit cross-legged.
Slow, measured movements will build muscle strength and improve balance, reducing the risk of falling as you age. The exercises help keeping the joints in the body healthy and supple, increasing flexibility and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation are also incorporated. Participants can enjoy many benefits such as stress reduction, better sleep and a greater sense of well-being.
