DrawYoga combines drawing and yoga, blending the cognitive, cerebral and health benefits of both disciplines to enhance creativity, strengthen focus and develop positive mental wellbeing. The course includes breath awareness, gentle asanas to improve posture and release tension, followed by the benefits of focusing on the different elements of a still life drawing before relaxing your body and mind into savasana. The course is a wonderful introduction to both drawing and yoga and is suitable for everyone, so no skills in drawing are required!

Sam introduces two classes Relax and Restore perfect for beginners or as an introduction to Yoga and DrawYoga which fuses two disciplines for a completely relaxing immersive experience in Harrogate, Killinghall and Ripley.
Sam turned to Yoga in 2011 to help with health issues, ‘I remember how low I felt and suffered constantly with chronic pain. I never felt comfortable in gyms and found most beginners’ classes difficult. However after finding a suitable restorative class I was able to manage my health issues and improve my health and wellbeing. After training and completing the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training course at the Yorkshire Centre of Wellbeing in Harrogate, I wanted to have the opportunity to help others find a quiet, inclusive and restorative space to be able to breathe, gain confidence and restore by combining two disciplines that have been an important part of my life’s journey to positive health and mental wellbeing.
Sam’s passion for art stems from being part of an artistic family. Sam gained her degree at the world-renowned Central Saint Martins in London, spending an early career in the art and design industry before training to become a specialist art teacher of 14 years in education. Sam’s students and schools have gained many awards and accolades led by Sam and an excellent reputation for the innovative provision of the arts in education, including exhibiting at the Saatchi Gallery and being an educational representative for IVE (Arts Council) Inclusion and Diversity Labs. Sam has supported other teachers and led workshops developing art skills and contributed to articles about the importance of art in education and its benefits in developing confidence and self-esteem.
