My name is Sian and I am a fully qualified and insured 200 Hour Yoga Teacher.
I first attended a yoga class at a local gym about five years ago and was instantly hooked! I love yoga, the positive impact it has on my body, stretching and strengthening muscles, the positive impact it has on my mind, teaching me to be patient and still and overall, the positive impact it has on my life. I love the feeling that I can switch off from the outside world when I step on my mat, that all that matters at the point in time is if I am in Down Dog or Balancing Half Moon.
In January 2016 I decided to make the transition from student to teacher and applied for my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Kripalu School of Yoga & Ayurveda in Massachusetts, USA. The Kripalu School of Yoga & Ayurveda also offer a scholarship program which I applied for and was lucky enough to receive 50% funding towards the course and accommodation fees, so on the 26th June 2016 I began my training with 46 other people from all over the world and two incredible yoga teachers – Michelle Dalbec and Coby Kozlowski. I found Coby’s honesty and enthusiasm for making ancient yoga teachings accessible to the “householder” and I found Michelles ability to effortlessly break down yoga postures to offer the most inclusive option inspiring and my aim as a yoga teacher is to bring these skills into my classes.
Kripalu Yoga is a compassionate and inclusive yoga practice suitable for all ages and all ability levels. The goal of Kripalu Yoga is to empower people through the practice of yoga to live a more fulfilled life. I currently teach gentle & intermediate Kripalu Yoga classes, as well as a new addition of prenatal yoga. I also offer private yoga sessions and details of all of these classes can be found here.
