I have been practicing yoga for 14 years starting when my daughter was a baby in postnatal yoga. Having enjoyed dance as a child I loved moving and connecting with my body and watching the changes in my body as I got stronger through yoga classes. As a social worker I could really see the value of yoga for kids and teens. Yoga was not only physically beneficial but emotionally beneficially especially in terms of trauma and therapeutic needs. I then went to study yoga for children with Special yoga gaining my certificate to teach yoga to children and started teaching straight away locally. My love for sharing yoga increased leading me to gain my 200hours teacher training and teen yoga training with Charlotta Martinez from teen yoga foundation. When I had my second child I started teaching more and working in social work less so now I work part time social work part time yoga teacher for all ages. My passion for teen yoga now means I work within the Teenyoga foundation a lot and promote the charity and the ethos. I have also developed the passion that yoga is for everybody and your body. Being inspired by both accessible yoga and body positive movement to ensure I can offer and share yoga with everyone. I currently teach kids and teens in schools as well as family yoga and teen classes in bromley and Beckenham. I also teach yoga for men and a gentle yoga class for older people or those with disabilities who struggle to attend mainstream class as well as open level classes in a gym setting. My practice is constantly evolving and I love watching my students grow in their practice and develop physicality be that headstand or touching their toes. I also offer 1:1 classes in your home for those that struggle with time or students who need more individual practice. I’m inspired by the Sivananda tradition of yoga, holding poses and steadying and grounding in practice but love to theme my classes often incorporating yogic philosophy to offer a holistic practice for all students.
