All the classes at Body Soul Yoga are taught by me, Faye Koe, and I am the Owner and Founder of Body Soul Yoga, based in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, KT12.
I love yoga and wish that I had taken it up as a child. Yoga has been a huge part of my life for over 12 years now, since my first Ashtanga lesson. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. My body is stronger, leaner and more flexible. My concentration and memory have improved; and I sleep well. These are just a handful of the benefits I have seen from my regular practice.
I am now grateful that I can share my love and passion for yoga with my students.
I was a City lawyer until late 2012, juggling that job with caring for my two children and family, and yoga. I am now fortuante to have been able to leave my legal career and now entirely focus on my family and yoga.
I have been practicing yoga for over 12 years and teaching for over 4 years.
I am a British Wheel of Yoga teacher and have a British Wheel of Yoga Teaching Diploma, under Cathy-Mae Karelse, (January 2009 - February 2011). I have trained with Calm for Kids under Christiane Kerr (November 2008), and now teach yoga to children of all ages. I was taught pregnancy yoga by Janet Balaskas and Wendy Teasdill at the Active Birth Centre in Highgate, North London, (2004 and 2006). I have also attended workshops with John Scott, Hamish Hendry, in Ashtanga Yoga; and have attended workshops including, but not restricted to: Lady Niguma Chakra Series I, Nicole Vigna transalated by Geshe Michael Roach; Womb Yoga Uma Dinsmore-Tull; and Overcoming Patanjali's 9 Obstacles Anna Semlyen.
I am a registered Emergency First Aider, hold a CRB certificate and am a Matron/chaperone for the Surrey Council Child Protection and Education Unit.
I understand the need for yoga, balance, relaxation and meditation to de-stress and allay anxiety, build inner strength, boost the immune system and keep grounded in an ever demanding world.
