I teach gentle and progressive Hatha Yoga within the framework of Integral Yoga. Whilst Yoga helps core strength and joint mobility, mindful movements with breath awareness are designed to work with the endocrine system, internal organs, lymphatic and nervous systems. This holistic approach of Yoga encourages the natural state of homeostasis that you experience in times of good health.
As a Senior Health Promotion Specialist I am trained to understand the impact of chronic conditions along with the effects of stress. My classes aim to counteract the fight or flight response, characterised in stressful states, by encouraging the calming influences of the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress hormones, boosting the immune system and balancing blood pressure. I am an experienced teacher of Yoga Nidra, an ancient technique of deep relaxation. I also have a personal practice of Kriya Yoga.
