I began my study of yoga as a teenager in 1988 and I've been studying it ever since then. In 2006 I completed my 500+ hours teacher training with the Inner Yoga Trust and went on to train in yoga therapy with Yoga Campus. I've trained to be a Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs teacher working with a variety of issues: including disk problems; sacro-illiac (SIJ) problems; arthritis and others. I have a special interest in teacher yoga to people with joint pain due to being hyper-mobile (too bendy) or hypo-mobile (too stiff). I prefer to teach in small classes (at the Haelan Centre and Platform in Finsbury Park) or privately..
Holistic Yoga is a therapeutic style of yoga with the aim of supporting people to reduce stress and improve health and wellbeing. The approach is eclectic and incorporates ideas from my lifetime practice in yoga as well as insights from other movement practices (Hanna Somatics, Alexander Technique, Physical Therapy, T'ai Chi and others). I am also fascinated by the scientific study of fascia, movement and meditation as well as ancient systems of Ayurveda and Chinese five element theory.
