Intermediate/Advanced Yoga Class

Intermediate/Advanced class is for those who have practised Sivananda Hatha Yoga before and know the basic Postures (Asanas) these are practised with less rest time in-between, so the class moves at a faster pace than the beginner’s class. Each class is progressive, you get to practise what you know and learn a new Asana each week. The class is safe and you are adjusted into the correct position.
I keep classes small to give personal attention to everyone, so booking is essential, please call/text 086-6098911 or email shantitherapi@gmail.com (please note: therapy with an i at the end). Mats are provided but bring your own for comfort and hygiene, also bring a large towel or blanket for the 10 minutes relaxation (guided meditation) at the end - this helps to get lactic acid out of the muscles, calm the mind and connect with your breathing.

My name is Linda O'Shea and I have been teaching Hatha Yoga for over 5 years, I did my Teaching Training Diploma in the Sivananda Ashram in London in 2010. I have been practising Yoga for over 10 years, I fell in love with Yoga in India in 2005, and it has helped me with years of chronic back pain and postural problems I want to help others relieve their pain and tension and spread the knowledge I have learnt on my life’s journey through Yoga, stretching and core exercises. I am a qualified Sports Massage Therapist, Beauty Therapist, Nutritionalist and Fitness Instructor as well as a BA degree in ISM.

There is a beginner’s class for those who want to learn the Sivananda 12 basic Asanas (postures), Breathing exercises and Sun Salutation. I'll help you to get the correct technique of the Asanas by adjusting you gently and showing you Core exercises to strengthen your abs and protect your back, therefore the class is safe and you can practise what you have done at home. You learn new Asanas each week, Practise the ones you know and progress on to more Advanced Postures. The Intermediate class is for you if you have practised Yoga before and want a faster paced class with less rest in-between Asanas and progress on to advanced postures this helps to challenge the body and mind.

In the Hatha Yoga classes you will increase flexibility, improve breathing, increase core strength, improve you back or muscular pain, relieve tension and tightness in the body, become more balanced and sleep better.
