This class focuses on teaching correct alignment of the classic poses to total beginners using the Iyengar method of teaching. The aim of the class is to give solid safe grounding in asana practice and inspire students to continue with Yoga in their lives.
Classes initially focus on standing poses to build up strength & stamina in the body and then move onto forward bends, twists and gentle backbends. Supported inversions are practiced from the first class and we finish with a lengthy guided Savasana (corpse pose).
After one block (10 wks), students will feel significantly softer in their bodies and minds, vitality is increased and there is an overall increase in the feeling of wellbeing.
