My own journey with yoga and kirtan began over 17 years ago. My mums best friend (wonderful Scaravelli Yoga teacher Liz Warrington) started teaching me yoga weekly when I was just 11 years old.
I fell in love with the practice immediately. I left my first class feeling as though I was walking on air and I have continued to cultivate this feeling ever since!
I completed my Yoga Teacher Training at The Nada School of Yoga in Rishikesh India. Here I became a certified teacher of Hatha Yoga and Meditation and also had the opportunity of taking daily classes in Kirtan and Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound).
I am also an IVA level 1 certified vocal technique instructor, and a teacher of the Buteyko Breathing technique.
I found chanting and kirtan at around the same time I discovered yoga. My mum and her friends would fill our home with food, laughter and music. On one such occasion someone brought around a CD of Sanskrit chants. I remember being transfixed by the unfamiliar words and sounds. The music spoke to me on a deep level and even from that young age I knew that this was something I needed to find out more about... and so over the years I did!
After spending many years writing, recording and performing music in the UK and France. I now channel most of my creative energy into my love of Kirtan. I've had the honour of chanting with teachers and kirtan leaders from the West to the East and this experience has changed my life for the better :)
I'm honoured to be able to share the things I love with the amazing people I meet on my yoga and kirtan journey. If you are reading this I wish you all the best on your own amazing unique path.
Namaste & Big Love!
Sacha :)
