Hi, I'm Nicole...
Firstly thank-you for joining my page, hopefully you'll find everything you need here. But if not, please do visit my website NicSkoYOGA.com, I'm on facebook too, or email me at or give me a call, leave a message if I'm busy, and I'll get right back to you as soon as I can - I'd love to hear from you! :-)
I've been practicing yoga on and off for 12 short years, my practice has mostly been around Hatha, which is my specialised training. I've been taught by some great yogi's all around the world when I've been fortunate enough to travel, from Sri Lanka, to India, Australia, and New York. - I'm very grateful for the different styles of yoga I've been exposed to, and the teachers for their efforts in spreading the love that is yoga.
I am Hatha & Vinyasa Yoga Certified by Yoga Professionals & YMCA Fit (2016), & I've attended a Vipassana Meditation (2015)
...And here's My Yoga Story
I started yoga first in a gym in Coventry, and actually only went to a couple of classes before I picked up the interest again a few years later, which is when I really got into Yogalates. It was during these days of home practice to DVD's and freestyling circa 2010 that I knew I wanted to teach, I'd learnt so much and couldn't imagine anything more wonderful than being able to share this. So when I was holidaying in Australia in 2015 I decided I'd catch a plane to go and meet Louise Solamon (founder of Yogalates) and attend her class - which was very insightftul and she kindly spoke to me afterwards too.
My next greatest love affair with yoga was at the Bikram Yoga Warwickshire Studio in 2014 where Dav would guide us through the most powerful and mellowing hot yoga sessions. A whole host of new teachings was waving over me in the heat. In those moments I knew I'd have to take the teacher training up soon.
In 2015 I decided to go and travel for a few months, an extended holiday exploring exciting corners of the world. During this time I had plenty of time to practice yoga, and contemplate where I could take my teacher training. I learnt so much from a few great teachers I was lucky enough to come across, from practicing beautifully spiritual yoga with Giorgio Mariotti in Varkala, India, to deeply relaxing Yin classes in Goa, and far more traditional Hatha in Sri Lanka.
Home from travelling I was truly inspired to take up the Teacher Training and chose to learn whilst I was working again, and took a wonderful course with YMCA Fit, and Yoga Professionals. Thank you to Claire Whitehouse & the team for all the teachings, the theory and fun, and above all teaching us how to teach!
Now, my most recent love affair with yoga has to have been the insomnia-curing yoga Nidra practices of 2016. I couldn't not mention this. If you suffer, ask me more, or check it out. And if you don't have insomnia issues, it's still a truly wonderful experience.
But, if anyone asks me why I love yoga, I resonate back to the days of 2010, when I first fell really in love with it, I was practicing at home, and I felt so much like yoga saved my life.
...What's Your Yoga Story?
Now I've learnt a few tricks, let me help paint some beauty in to your life too.
I'd absolutely love to hear about your story too, so please send me an email if you'd like to share. And let me know if you'd like me to share it on the webpage in a blog for you too!
