Our 6-week postnatal yoga courses are held in Moseley Birmingham. All new mums and their babies are welcome, although you must complete a Registration Form and book your space first. www.PregnancyYogaBirmingham.co.uk
Your baby is very welcome to come and share the experience until your he/she is mobile. There is time at the beginning and end of the class to spend feeding, changing, playing with your baby, and socialising with the other mums and babies.
There is also plenty of time for you to tone up and strengthen your body, helping with the recovery process. This will include exercises to strengthen core muscles, especially focusing on pelvic floor and stomach muscles, as well as awareness of posture for feeding, and strengthening the arms and back.
While you are exercising, your baby can lie down next to you, getting involved with your exercises, or in the baby area, where they can socialise with the other babies. I provide yoga mats and cushions for you, and a clean, safe and fun area for the babies.
You can start after your 6 week check. If you had a C-Section, you may wish to wait a little longer. And you can continue to come until your baby is mobile.

Paula Sims teaches pregnancy yoga, postnatal yoga, Active Birth preparation, and partners’ workshops in Moseley, Birmingham.
Paula has three sons who were all born at home in water. Her experiences were joyful, thrilling, and empowering. During her first 2 pregnancies, she attended pregnancy yoga classes with Lindsay Clarke who taught her about Active Birth. Paula had two quick and relatively easy births, mainly attributed to what she had learnt in Lindsay’s pregnancy yoga classes.
Following such fantastic birth experiences, Paula spent the next 3 years training with Janet Balaskas at the Active Birth Centre in London to become an Active Birth Pregnancy Yoga teacher. She has been teaching pregnancy yoga since May 2005, and has helped over 500 women gain the confidence to birth their babies in their own individual way.
