Pregnancy Yoga

Switch off from the outside world and focus on you and your baby – creating a space just for you both. No previous experience of yoga is necessary.

Classes are designed to enhance and nurture your experience of Pregnancy. Gentle exercises are practiced which can help with common ailments experienced in pregnancy – for example, pelvic gurdle pain, back pain, constipation, heartburn, tiredness etc.

A range of breathing techniques, visualisations, relaxation and sound practices are explored, to aid relaxation and help facilitate the birthing of your baby. This can help you to obtain a more restful sleep, enabling you to feel more energised.

Pregnancy yoga postures build stability and strength, whilst softening and relaxing appropriate areas of the body – creating space. Yoga practices can be used to relieve pain in labour and childbirth. Together we will explore postures for labour and the birthing process which can help to support an active birth.

Pelvic floor practices enable you to gain a greater awareness over this area of your body, which is helpful when birthing your baby and will support you to heal and strengthen the pelvic floor with yoga practices after birth (postnatal yoga).

Yoga can help you release stress, tension and anxiety held within the body and mind – calming emotions. Classes support you to build confidence and an understanding of techniques you can utilise to help birth your baby – to aid you to feel positive and empowered for the birth you want.

Classes provide a warm, welcoming environment for you to meet other pregnant women, and share your experiences of pregnancy and birth. Pregnancy Yoga classes nurture a connection with your baby and are an opportunity for you to relax and have fun.

You will also be invited to join our Mums and Bumps Club!
