Restorative Yoga Morning, Sunday 9th November

A morning of restorative yoga in the beautiful National Trust Footprint building in Windermere (https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/footprint). As winter draws in it is noticeable that energy reserves begin to feel depleted. The colder weather and shorter days begin to take their toll as we notice the low lying levels of stress and anxiety affect our physical and mental health.

It is time to slow down and take more rest. We are supposed to be in semi hibernation but the pace of life accelerates as we hurtle towards the festive season. Restorative yoga gives us the opportunity to learn to relax and rest deeply and completely, helping us to feel rejuvenated.

By incorporating props like yoga blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps to support and align the body, restorative poses allow the body to fully relax in each posture.

"During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited, and a few of the measurable results of deep relaxation are the reduction of blood pressure, serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels in the blood, the increase of the "good cholesterol" levels, as well as improvement in digestion, fertility, elimination, the reduction of muscle tension, insomnia and generalized fatigue." (J Lasater)

Nes trained in restorative yoga with Judith Lasater and is a certified Relax and Renew® teacher.
