Hi my name is Sophie, I am a lover of the practice of yoga, I move & practice, I teach a little and I am an eternal student. My site is about my classes, my thoughts, my experiences and my practice of yoga, a snap shot of my journey.
Here you can find information on where I teach, weekly classes and monthly workshops in South Manchester, as well as retreats in the UK and Europe.
The word yoga in Sanskrit comes from the root ‘yuk’ to yolk, a union, so I encourage you to share you own yoga journeys, please feel free to read, comment, like and message or even join me on my journey or even pop to a class and start your own yoga journey!
My classes are light hearted and designed to help bring a sense of balance and equanimity to your body and mind. The real practice of yoga is not how many shapes you can make on the mat but the way you move through life, the asana practice is designed to make you feel good and allow you to find stillness within.
Practicing yoga means you often find yourself in a a period of self reflection and on a journey towards self realisation and inner stillness. The journey you take allows you to learn how to change your perspective, how to address any of life’s obstacles with compassion – using your yamas and niyamas (the first two limbs of yoga).
The practice allows you time to find space in both the body and the mind, space that allows you to develop an inner light and feeling of wellbeing, and the ability to send this light out into the world bonging a little brightness into the darkness.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing this amazing and ancient practice with you.
Thank you
Om Shanti
Namaste
