MyTimeYoga

I am Yvonne Lovatt of MyTimeYoga — a Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist. I help you to improve your health and well-being through the practice of Yoga and Yoga Therapy. I believe that everybody should have ‘MeTime’ and can benefit from this wonderful practice.

My aim is to help you feel calm and relaxed using all my skills and knowledge of both a Yoga Teacher and Therapist.

It all started around 27 years ago, I had an extremely challenging job as an Area Sales Manager and had achieved top prize on an incentive, I found myself at a beautiful health spa. With plenty of time on my hands which was rare as I had a 2 year old daughter I decided to join a yoga class. I really enjoyed the experience and then soon after found myself at a local class in my hometown of Bradford.

I remember that first class so well, everyone in the room looked ‘so old’, I thought I’d joined the wrong class, the movements that these people were making were incredible, they were so flexible and fit despite being a lot older than myself. I had always done exercise at the gym but found myself struggling with step and aerobics — it was back in the day of the “Green Goddess” and “Mr Motivator”.

After that first class I felt very humble and thought to myself “that if these people could do all of those movements at their age then I was going to stick with yoga”. Yoga has helped me immensely in my journey through life, it’s helped me navigate dark and sad times.
It gave me time for me and helped me navigate my way to a much brighter and happier place, and for this I am forever grateful.

My first teacher, the late Lilian Biggs who I have since found out brought Iyengar Yoga to the UK back in the 1960’s, who trained directly with BKS Iyengar every year and passed on this wonderful knowledge directly to us, her students. I feel truly blessed to have been taught by such an inspirational human being.

I set up my business ‘MyTimeYoga’ in 2013 with a simple idea of “Yoga for All”.

I have relocated in April 2025 from Bedale to Laughton, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire with my husband Steve and our two Golden Retrievers Kisi and Willow. When not practising yoga I enjoy being outdoors in nature observing the changing of the seasons, walks on the beach, being with family and friends and time pottering in the garden.

I am looking forward to teaching from my home studio and also in Messingham and surrounding villages.
