Sivananda is a traditional classical “meditation through movement” style that increases flexibility, strength and vitality in the body. It combines breath awareness, warm-ups, Sun Salutations and classic asanas (postures) along with some Sanskrit chanting, to enliven the body and calm the mind. Poses are held for a longer period of time, with emphasis on proper breathing, focus and concentration. This class is suitable for students who already have some yoga experience and who want to explore one of the most traditional forms of yoga with a master instructor.
