This is a friendly general level class. Beginners are very welcome, please call before you attend. The Sunday class is taught in the bright, spacious and warm, award winning Ashurstwood village centre.
The yoga postures or asanas focus on the correct alignment of the body and you will be guided through them with appropriate adjustments for different physiques and for people with specific problems. The classes can be hard work as asanas involve intense stretching; however, you will leave the class feeling lighter and calmer. The immediate benefits of yoga are greater flexibility, strength and better physical health. As you continue with your practice, psychological and spiritual benefits begin to appear.
Please bring a blanket and a yoga mat if you have your own. All other equipment i.e. blocks, bricks, belts and some mats and yoga chairs are provided. If you have any queries or specific health problems please call.

I have been practicing Iyengar yoga since 2006, just after the birth of my first child and have not felt like stopping since! Yoga has helped me through stressful periods in my life and makes me more aware during the happy times. Physically and spiritually Iyengar yoga is my way to achieve a balance, clarity and health in life that I am hoping to pass on to others. I am truly grateful for the gift of yoga which I received through the teachings of BKS Iyengar and by studying with my senior teachers.
I qualified as an Introductory level II teacher in 2014 and am teaching classes in London and West Sussex where I now live with my husband and children.
