T'ai chi is a gentle yet powerful movement practice from ancient China, based on the principles of Qigong (Qi = life energy, Gong = cultivation). This is a standing practice and draws deeply on its origins of Chinese Traditional Medicine. It helps bring about calm and peace of mind whilst gently exercising the whole body. It stresses the principles of relaxation and yielding, and the cultivation of inner strength and harmony of both body and mind. The practice of this art brings us into balance with ourselves and with those around us. T'ai Chi (and moreover Qigong) is said to be the yoga of China.
