Yoga to me is a pathway I follow to help me live a more happy, healthy and harmonious life. What I love about Yoga is that it is a holistic practice that helps me feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. Yoga has improved my posture and given me the strength and flexibility to live my life feeling more comfortable and at ease in my body & mind.
I have been exploring Yoga for over 25 years now, many different styles and approaches with some incredible and inspiring teachers. I studied with the British Wheel of Yoga from 2008 -2012 completing my Diploma in Hatha Yoga & Meditation.
In 2012, I was introduced to somatic movement, igniting my enthusiasm for a more internally guided approach; connecting with the inner wisdom of the body. I studied Dance & Somatic Well-being PGCE at UClan in 2014.
I returned to my yoga studies with my Teacher Debbie Farrar IYN Elder in 2015, who after many years of practice & study has developed her style of Sensible Yoga, “sensitive & somatic approach to asana based on logical & scientific principles...embracing forward thinking teaching & learning philosophies and scientific theory to meet the current needs of each individuals body & mind. ” I found this contemporary approach, therapeutic & healing helping me go deeper, bringing a new level of release, enjoyment & transformation into my practice.
In 2017 I was introduced to Scaravelli Inspired Yoga with the Aquaviva School of Yoga, this approach uses gravity, breath & “conditions” to lead to the “Yoga State”. I have found this extremely powerful in releasing deeply held tension, bringing a real sense of lightness & freedom to my body & mind.
