Vinyasa is a breath initiated practice, that connects every action of our life with the intention of moving towards what is sacred, or most important to us.

Vinyasa means “movement linked with breath.”  It is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath.

This classes offer a variety of postures and no two classes are ever alike.

The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day, this indicates that we are not “throwing our bodies around” but are bringing consciousness to each movement in each moment.

“Vinyasa in its original meaning from the early Tantras is understood as the ‘sequence of consciousness,’ or how life unfolds from…the creative pulse of life.”

Benefits of a regular practice:
*Calming – The steady cycle of inhales and exhales provides you with a calming, mental focal point.
*Purification of body -The continual movements, from one pose to another, gives you an added cardiovascular benefit creating internal heat. The increased circulation and sweat leads to purification of the body.
*Increase muscle strength & flexibility – the routines, weather they are slow paced or fast paced are a great workout for your body.
*Brings you to the present – Yoga opens you up to this moment, which is all there is and which is the doorway to experience truth and real happiness.

What began as a personal practice – born out of an introduction to mediation during my childhood martial arts training – has become something of a mission; to help others intelligently know and heal their physical body, emotions and spirit.
My evolution from yogi to yoga teacher,advanced practitioner in Thai Yoga Massage and other Holistic Therapies, has been a natural development based upon the importance of continual growth and learning. Forever a student, I’m continually looking to develop my understanding, which is where yoga teaching prompted further education in anatomy and therapy and linked intrinsically through to diet, wellness, the soul and energy.
For me, yoga is not solely the practice that you perform on your mat, but an approach to living, to your friendships, your relationships, your work. It’s an energy that you take from the mat and transfer to all areas of your life.
As both yoga teacher and therapist, I look at the body as a whole; your energy, your emotional self and your physical body, taking a fully holistic, intuitive and tactile approach to assisting the process of self-healing.
