Yoga has been at the centre of my life for more than forty years. My introduction came through the teachings of Sri Ramana of Arunachala, it was meditation that fascinated me and my appreciation for hatha yoga developed slowly over the course of several years.
I began teaching in 1986, it was a 'temporary' solution to stop the yoga class I went to from folding when our teacher suddenly had to leave. I have no teaching qualifications, my teaching is rooted in my own ongoing practice and development.
I am fully insured and have conducted classes for my local GP's and several local authorities.
My classes are friendly and informal, I encourage everyone to work safely, at their own pace and to develop a regular personal practice.
My classes include all elements of the Eight Limbs of Astanga Yoga, with particular emphasis on pranayama and pratyhara.
My teaching style is eclectic, but includes basic hatha, vinyasa and yin. My meditation experience also informs my teaching, I consider hatha yoga to be an excellent method for developing mindfulness in action.
