Yoga for Mum and Baby

I WILL BE ON MATERNITY LEAVE SOON SO THIS CLASS WILL RETURN IN SPRING 2020

New Yoga for Mum and Baby!
...breathe, tone and stretch with your new baby.

This postnatal class is for mums with babies from 6 weeks old until they are on the move!

Use this opportunity to reconnect with your body breath and mind.

Tone your pelvic floor and core muscles and encourage your body to regain pre-birth strength and endurance.

Bond with your baby. Start them on their journey of physical development. Yoga will help them with sleep and digestion.

Meet other mums with similarly aged babies in a comfortable and safe environment.

The class will be a mixture of standing, seated and lying postures. You will hold baby sometimes and sometimes they will lie on the floor and watch (hopefully!) and sometimes you will move baby through their mini yoga moves! It doesn't matter if baby cries! It doesn't matter if you have to stop to feed baby! This is a supportive, mum-friendly, baby-friendly environment.

Norah Nelson Yoga in South Devon - Vinyasa Krama Yoga for everyone

I have been practising yoga since 2003
, and I completed Teacher
Training program in Vinyasa Krama Yoga with Harmony
Yoga Academy in 2011. I recently completed a Diploma in Pregnancy Yoga with Yoga Gro. My yoga practice has been most influenced
by Krishnamacharya’s tradition, which emulates how
I feel about sustainable, optimal health and wellbeing across
the lifespan. Yoga has had physical and spiritual therapeutic
effects in my life, and I would like to help more people find balance in their lives through yoga. I am also influenced by Scaravelli's teachings on the spine.
I am fascinated with the idea that yoga practiced with vinyasa (variations) and krama (intelligent sequence or method) allows anyone to start from where they are and make progress. Using a holistic and adaptive approach is an essential component to how I teach – I really believe yoga is for everybody.

My previous training gives me an affinity with sports people and people who are physically active. I am interested in helping people use yoga to facilitate more healthy and respectful use of their bodies and how this can enhance their other activities and quality of life.
I am an experienced teacher with over ten years teaching in further and higher education settings. I currently teach anatomy and physiology on the Harmony Yoga teacher training qualification.
