I was first introduced to yoga whilst at university in Toronto studying for my Psychology BSc. I found that a regular yoga practice helped me cope with the depression I suffered for years and it eventually helped me come off medication altogether. After many years of personal practice, I was drawn to do my Yoga Teacher training, especially after a very inspirational workshop with International Yogi Michael Stewart. I have done further yoga intensive studies with Yogacharya Venkatesha from Mysore and Yoga Therapy Certificate with Doug Keller.
Yoga is more than a form of exercise, it is a way of living life to the greater good of yourself, the people around you and the environment. I teach predominenatly from the Hatha Yoga lineage, practised by the ancients many years ago, as a form of self-healing and improving overall health and wellbeing. It is focused on the mind, body and spirit connection through breathing with awareness. The practice is a combination of pranayama, asanas and relaxation with the asanas being a combination of poses which are restorative, subtle and centring.
The goal of which is the journey toward knowing yourself, who you really are.
