My classes combine body-awakening energetic movement through the flow between asanas (postures) and longer-held postures where we use the breath to connect with our tension and learn to relax into those tough 'sticky' places. The classes mix Hatha-style techniques with modern Yoga 'flow', often with a different focus for each session.
We start by grounding and bringing awareness to our breath, switching off from the world outside. Then we start to generate heat in the body, moving between postures, working on our strength and flexibility throughout. We will focus on internal and body awareness, using breath at all times to tune into our body's inner intelligence and the place of stillness in ourselves. Despite the practice being a fantastic whole body work-out, hopefully you'll leave the class having let go of tension, stress and with a new sense of wellbeing.

I have had a number of Yoga teachers of varying styles, practising Hatha, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Iyengar, Yin Yoga etc. and found that there is something to be taken from every single style. I have been repeatedly amazed at the sense of grounding it gives me, at the well-rounded approach it provides to my body's training of strength and flexibility. It has brought me laughter and tears in equal measure and, every time, has felt like cleansing. On my yoga mat I have addressed things in my mind that I probably would just wash over in every day life. Yes, sometimes that's really hard! But not once have I regretted it or thought it was a bad idea. I have always loved that there is always something new to take from Yoga and, subsequently, something new to learn about yourself.
