Yoga is already happening now; just waiting to be felt. Patanjali pointed to this in that first Sutra. Feel Now Yoga is an invitation to explore the Sutras and your practice in a way that is inclusive of the principle of ‘atha yoganushasanam’, allowing you to ease into an intimately nourishing relationship with life.
Debbie has been practising yoga since 1977 and teaching since 1999. She holds degrees in Environmental Science & Philosophy and Education. Debbie has been working under the banner of Feel Now Yoga with her partner-apprentice Ross Dixon since 2013 during which time they have facilitated tours and study trips to North India & Yoga Teacher Trainings in Lancashire, England. Hi, I'm Debbie of Feel Now Yoga. I am British Wheel of Yoga qualified & an Independent Yoga Network Yoga Elder. I have been teaching yoga since 1999 and practising since 1977. I draw inspiration for my teaching from nature and my own teachers; Godfrey Devereux, Peter Blackaby and the late Swami Satya Premananda (Satyananda Yoga).
As well as teaching independent yoga classes around Chorley and Blackburn, I offer private yoga tuition & meditation groups from my home studio in whittle-le-Woods, Chorley. I teach a diverse variety of user groups, but specialise in sensible therapeutic yoga which consists of soothing movements to ease away aches and pains, help with joint & muscular problems, stress, depression and anxiety and help you get a good night's sleep. I do teach a couple of dynamic yoga classes a week, but mostly my classes are mixed ability therapeutic classes that are suitable for everyone. I prefer inclusivity over exclusivity!
My yoga teaching provides a supportive framework within which each individual can explore what their own body needs. Feel Now Yoga is an invitation to tune into and trust your own feelings; using posture practice (asana), somatic movements, breath exploration (pranayam) and meditation to reclaim a balanced, harmonious and honest dialogue between Body and Mind.
In addition to teaching classes, I deliver 6 month long Deep Yoga Foundation Courses (in Chorley, Lytham & Coniston) which help people go deeper into yoga than you can in a class or workshop to find their own personal yoga and set up a regular self practice at home. It is also a a great preparation for Yoga Teacher Training. My 11th Foundation Course starts in Lytham in January 2018 & my 4th 18 month 350 hour IYN Yoga Teacher Training Course starts in September 2018. See the Feel Now Yoga website for details & requirements.
There are now dozens of Feel Now Yoga Teachers throughout Lancashire, Manchester & Cumbria, (including my first apprentice and partner Ross Dixon), who also teaches in Chorley & Blackburn) so if you cannot find a class that suits you, let us know & chances are we can put you in touch with a teacher in your area.
