Join us for a week of yoga and sunshine at the beautiful yoga retreat Molino del Rey in Southern Spain.
Relax, Restore, Rejuvenate, Revitalise with a week of Yin and Yang Yoga.
Our luxury yoga retreat is set in a typical little Spanish hamlet community, surrounded by the traditional and simple Spanish country way of life. There are around 30 houses in the hamlet, some 50 Spanish neighbours and a simple bar, but no shops, banks etc. We are in a gorgeous green valley, flanked by orange groves, in the famous nature reserve Sierra de las Nieves. Only 50 minutes from Malaga airport and popular tourist resorts of the Costa del Sol as Marbella and Puerto Banus. Just 38 km away, lies the magical city of Ronda, a very popular excursion for our guests!
A spring of the river Rio Grande initiates at the entrance of our hamlet. From it, the purest of waters flow through our yoga centre, offering bathing facilities whilst surrounded by the wonderful fragrance of mountain flowers.
You will be led through 4 hours of daily yoga, with a dynamic energising Yang Vinyasa Flow practice in the morning, followed by a soothing and meditative Yin practice for the evening, bringing a sense of balance to your practice and your stay. Additionally, we will have a daily session of 60 minutes during which we will look at specific aspects and themes of the practice that students might want to delve deeper into, whether they are related to postures, breathing, meditation or philosophy. It will be an opportunity to ask the questions that a normal class might not offer the space for and go deeper into one’s personal practice.
Please note that Molino del Rey is a private residence rather than a hotel. Room service and daily cleaning of rooms will not be available. Molino del Rey caters specifically for yoga retreats and has many years of experience in this. We will be the only guests at the residence and will have sole use of all the facilities.
As Molino del Rey is located in a small Spanish village, we would recommend that you rent a car to benefit from what the local area offers. There will be opportunities to visit Ronda, Malaga, regional beaches and to go riding at the local stables for those who wish to take advantage of these opportunities. A shared car with others on the retreat will be significantly less expensive than arranging for a transfer from and to the airport. We are happy to put you in contact with others joining and wishing to share a car.

Erika spent many years of her life in the corporate world, while also raising a family. She has practiced yoga for over 15 years. It was in 2007 however, that she feels she grasped the true potential of yoga. She was suffering from physical injuries and ill health, after years of stressful living had taken their toll, and found that yoga helped her heal on a profound level. This is also when she decided to pursue her teacher training completing her RYT 500 training with The Art of Contemporary Yoga in 2010. Erika is particularly interested in the therapeutic benefits of yoga and in the impact stress has on our lives. She hopes that her classes create a safe and warm space, where students can let go of external pressures and experience a place of stillness and pure being. Her classes are energetic, yet leaving space for her students to practice mindfulness and awareness. Erika teaches groups, privates and workshops in South West London and thrives from seeing students progress, grow and flourish from the benefits they reap from their yoga practice. She is also qualified to teach meditation, having completed her 200 hour training with Inside Meditation.
