We gather at this new moon time, as women, to align with the energy of the moon, and as women to open to her healing and replenishing energies.
The new moon time heralds a time for introspection and reflection. It is the perfect time for enquiring into what no longer serves you, to letting go of that and to opening to new beginnings. It is a time to set intentions, get clear on new ventures, and set clear resolutions as we move into a new lunar cycle.
In these circles we support all of this with replenishing restorative yoga, inner enquiry guided by the astrology of this new moon, safe and respectful sharing to support us in our quests, and we seal all insights and aspirations with a short but powerful sacred fire ritual.
These are very warm and caring, transformational gatherings.

My classes are based on the classical teachings of Hatha Yoga and Raja Yoga, and I am a trained Ayurveda Nutrition and Lifestyle Practitioner. I bring extensive training in both these fields into my classes, workshops, retreats and 1-1 sessions. In class, you will build physical strength and flexibility, with a learned awareness of safe and correct engagement of muscles and joint range of motion. (Postures are adapted according to your experience and your body's capacity). However, you will also find your mind deeply engaged throughout the class, bringing a renewed sense of mental-emotional calm and poise . At the end of class, we practice pranayamas (breathing practices to benefit body and mind), and conscious relaxation of body and mind. These lead us naturally into a state of meditation.
I also teach a restorative-gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga, and monthly workshops combining Hatha & Raja Yoga, plus Ayurveda classes. On retreat, all these Yoga styles, meditation as well as Ayurveda nutrition and lifestyle are taught.
".... you feel so good after a class it only makes you want to come back for the next lesson. Whether you have been doing Yoga for years or only just started, Shama works with you to release your potential." Feedback from a class member.
