"Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is to relax."
This restorative yoga practice is deeply nourishing and extremely gentle, offering you the opportunity to pause, relax, rest and restore.
We will use props to support the body, inviting muscles to completely relax and let go of tension. The practice of restorative yoga stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which slows the heart rate, regulates blood pressure and relaxes the body. Benefits are reported for anxiety, insomnia, headaches as well as other stress- related conditions.
Super gentle, supported postures are held for several minutes, making this practice accessible to everyone who can get on and off the floor without too much difficulty.
The practice will consist of a handful of poses that are held for 5 minutes or more. We'll get in the pose, make it comfortable, relax into it and just do nothing for a while. We could all benefit from a little "me time" and self care.

Hi, I’m Shannon, Welcome! I am an ITEC qualified Holistic Massage Therapist, as well as an E-500 RYT Yoga Alliance certified teacher. I qualified as a massage therapist in 2012, and have been teaching yoga in the Maidstone area since 2015. I have completed training in Yoga For Stress, burnout and Fatigue, Mindfulness and Meditation, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and am an accredited BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) teacher of (MY) Menopause Yoga™️. I have also completed (with intention to further my studies) a six month Introduction course in Ayurveda. I feel it is very important that one never stop learning and growing!
I offer fun, friendly and inclusive yoga classes, and approach them with warmth, compassion, and a sense of humour. All levels of experience and ability are welcome. Yoga is a great tool for improving both physical and mental wellbeing. And, as someone who has benefited enormously from the practice, I believe strongly in the healing, transformative effects it can have. I hope to see you on the mat soon!
