At the heart of yoga lies the process of Atma Vichara; a deep, honest & open self enquiry. In this philosophical & experiential course, we will develop a deep & fruitful self practice, that is not restricted to asana. Exploring pranayama, relaxation, mantra, depth psychology & meditation; we will peel back the layers of limiting beliefs that keep us from being able to truly accept & appreciate who we are.
Deep Foundations is a 60 hour yoga self enquiry course providing a supportive framework within which you can establish and deepen your personal practice and experience of yoga. You will gain a comprehensive grounding in basic practical techniques taught in the context of the philosophy that underpins yoga; the sutras of Patanjali.
Deep Foundations allows you to access the depths of yoga which cannot be gleamed from books, videos, classes or workshops. Studying yoga philosophy, history & theory allows you to move beyond yoga gymnastics to integrate the philosophy of the sutras into your practice contextualising yourself within this ancient tradition to give a truly embodied somatic experience.
The Feel Now Yoga Deep Foundation Course is facilitated by Debbie Farrar, a lifelong yoga student, who has been teaching yoga & facilitating transformative experiences since 1999. It is suitable for anyone wanting to go deeper into their practice & themselves to find their natural yoga being state, and so is an ideal preparation for those wishing to train as yoga teachers in the future, but equally suitable for committed yoga practitioners with no ambition to teach.
Progression to Yoga Teacher Training: The next Feel Now Yoga Teacher Training Course intake is january 2023, so this Foundation Course can lead directly onto the Teacher Training.

Hi, I'm Debbie Farrar of Feel Now Yoga. I am British Wheel of Yoga qualified & an Independent Yoga Network Yoga Elder. I have been teaching yoga since 1999 and practising since 1977. I draw inspiration for my teaching from nature and my own teachers; Godfrey Devereux, Peter Blackaby and the late Swami Satya Premananda (Satyananda Yoga).
My partner Ross Dixon & I teach yoga classes online & around Brampton, Carlisle, Haltwhistle and Alston. I offer private yoga & meditation tuition in your own home.
We serve a diverse variety of user groups, but specialise in sensible therapeutic yoga which consists of soothing movements to ease away aches and pains, help with joint & muscular problems, stress, depression and anxiety and help you get a good night's sleep.
I also teach a couple of dynamic yoga classes a week, which are slow flow functional movement classes, & my partner Ross’s classes are Functional Yoga. All our classes are mixed ability sensible yoga classes suitable for all abilities including beginners. We prefer inclusivity over exclusivity!
Our yoga teaching provides a supportive framework within which each individual can explore what their own body needs. Feel Now Yoga is an invitation to tune into and trust your own feelings; using posture practice (asana), somatic movements, breath exploration (pranayam) and meditation to reclaim a balanced, harmonious and honest dialogue between Body and Mind.
Debbie also delivers Yoga Foundation Courses & Teacher Trainings. These are online & in person in chorley, Lancashire & Brampton, Cumbria. Foundation courses help you set up your own home practice & take around 6 months & are a good preparation for training to teach yoga.
