With a family of Iyengar Yoga teachers Gerda has always been immersed in the yoga world. Attending her first class at the age of 10 with Lillian Biggs, she continues to attend regular teachers classes with Alan Brown and other Senior teachers. She has been to the Ramamani Iyengar Institute in India three times, and has been taught by BKS Iyengar, Prashant Iyengar and Geeta Iyengar. She is strongly involved in the Iyengar Yoga community, keeping up to date with events in the yoga world by running the Bradford and District Iyengar Yoga Institute's Facebook and Instagram page. She currently holds an Intermediate Junior Level 1 certificate.
Iyengar Yoga is the most widely practiced form of yoga in the world and can help with flexibility, relaxation, strength, toning, balance, and general health, to name a few. Iyengar Yoga teachers are held to a very high standard and only gain their certification after years of training and evaluation.
