The course provides a sound foundation for the basic yoga practice Students are taken through the class step-by-step in a group setting with explanation of the yama, niyama, postures and breathing exercises which allows for more personal one-to-one corrections.
The course includes: introduction to Yoga Philosophy and general discourse on Yoga, the importance of Yama and Niyama in yoga practice, daily meditation, basic pranayama, yoga asana classes, ayurvedic and sattvic vegetarian food and other activities.

Nilesh R. Tiwari’s journey to yoga has taken him through myriad philosophical thought systems and practices that fuel his life’s passion for practice and learning. He began studying Yoga asanas in school. He spent many years studying Yoga in various Ashrams around India as well as in Mysore. Throughout the years, he became fascinated by both the rigor and the subtle forms within the Ashtanga Vinyasa system. His study expanded to include Sivananda Yoga.
Currently, he is pursuing his higher education in Yoga University in India, which includes the various Ancient Yogic Texts such as Yoga Sutra, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Vigan Bhairav Tantra, Vedanta and Bhagavad Gita.
A former athlete, he has deep interest in the human body combined with keen observation skills and precise hands-on adjustment style. He understands the challenges and also the accessibility of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Mysore method and Sivanada style. His teaching style is infused with kindness and humility, simplicity and lightheartedness. Nilesh strives to create a class environment that is non-intimidating, cheerful, inquisitive and one in which students are encourage to challenge themselves, and grow with the practice.
Nilesh teaches in Ashtanga Yoga Shala in Jakarta. He also teaches and assists teachers training course in Sivananda Ashrams and in Shatalam8 Ashtanga Yoga Shala in Mysore, India.
Nilesh R. Tiwari teaches in tradition of Ashtanga Yoga. He is certified by BNS Iyengar and Ajay Kumar from Mysore. He also has been given the title Yoga Acharya – Master of Yoga from International Sivananda Yoga Vendata Center.
