Puerto Viejo de Talamanca offers many conveniences as an up-and-coming beach town that was once very off the beaten path. Explore 14 kilometers of gorgeous and pristine Caribbean beaches, hike waterfalls, horseback ride, surf or spot the local wildlife on your days off. This place is a nature lovers dream! The retreat center is located close enough to town to walk to all conveniences, yet tucked away in a quiet jungle corner to support deep and sacred study.
Cashew Hill Jungle Lodge is a sacred haven three blocks away from the bustle of Puerto Viejo town Center. Enjoy gorgeous ocean views, open air patios and live in close proximity with the creatures and sounds of nature, but close enough to have all the amenities within reach!

Puerto Viejo is full of fun adventures and explorations for your free time! Try a surf class, pop into the spa for a massage or Reiki, go horseback riding, take a bike cruise or simply beach hop on the 14 kilometers of tropical beach. We're here to help you find the perfect adventure when you're not immersed in retreat events.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Puerto Viejo is a 4.5 hour bus or shuttle ride from the San Jose (Alajuela) airport. From town center a taxi can bring you with your luggage three blocks back and up the jungle hill to our cozy jungle lodge training home.

In 2014, The Caribe Yoga Academy opened its’ doors as one of Costa Rica’s leading Yoga Teacher Training Programs. Our Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga school for the 200 and 300 hour levels is the heartfelt creation of the director and lead trainer, Avani Gilbert.
Check out the Caribe Yoga Academy’s variety of 200 and 300 hour programs and great selection of both immersion and non-immersion formats. The diversity in offerings and a talented, professional staff allows the Caribe Yoga Academy to serve both visitors and those living full-time in our lush jungle wonderland. All instructor training programs are located at the OM Retreat and Training Center at Cashew Hill Jungle Lodges in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, South Caribbean, Costa Rica.
